Best Practice Recommendation – The Broadmoor Improvement Association Redevelopment Plan is an extensive (335 pages!) document that is a prime example of what a motivated community can do to not just rebuild its neighborhood but to make their neighborhood better than before Hurricane Katrina changed their lives forever. Broadmoor is a multi-neighborhood area of New Orleans that was devastated almost beyond comprehension. This redevelopment plan is a testament to the gumption and hard work of a dedicated community determined not to lose their homes nor their neighborhoods. You will find extensive information in this document, not just about what the BIA folks did, but how they went about doing it.
